Texas board and exam-day planning

  1. Follow the registration and scheduling instructions in your PSI eligibility email after your training hours have been reported.
  2. On the TDLR exam page, select the Candidate Information Bulletin for your exact license and language: Cosmetology Operator, Cosmetology Manicurist, or Esthetician. A Class A Barber bulletin is a different license.
  3. Read the identification policy and exam-site details in that bulletin. Check the appointment confirmation for the exam type and location before travelling.

Use your exam appointment instructions for the testing address. A school campus or licensing agency office is not automatically a testing center.

Texas: Vietnamese exam language — Manicurist

TDLR links Vietnamese candidate bulletins, and the current PSI catalogue lists Vietnamese written and practical selections for this license. On-day Vietnamese practical instructions and a Vietnamese-speaking proctor are not verified.

  1. Wait for PSI eligibility instructions after the training record is approved.
  2. Select the exact Texas license, written or practical part and Vietnamese language. Follow the current candidate bulletin and appointment confirmation.
  3. The practical bulletin requires English product labels. Confirm spoken instructions and any language support directly with PSI; accommodation approval is a separate process.

CEP study language does not determine the official exam language. Confirm the exact license, exam part, language and appointment with the Board or PSI. A translated guide does not promise a Vietnamese-speaking examiner.

Verify before applying. Licensing rules, fees, providers, and exam formats can change. Use the linked board source as the final authority.
