Disinfection
How must non-porous tools (shears, combs) be handled after a client before reuse?
Check answer
Correct answerB. Cleaned, then disinfected with an EPA-registered disinfectant for the required contact time
Why this is correct: Non-porous tools must first be cleaned, then disinfected with an EPA-registered (hospital-grade) disinfectant for the label's contact time.
Haircut
Cutting with the hair held at about 90° elevation typically creates what result?
Check answer
Correct answerB. A layered cut
Why this is correct: 0° elevation = a blunt one-length cut; 90° = layers; 180° = long layers. Elevation controls how much the cut is layered.
Color
On the 1–10 hair-color level system, what do level 1 and level 10 represent?
Check answer
Correct answerB. 1 = black (darkest), 10 = lightest blonde
Why this is correct: The LEVEL system measures lightness/darkness: 1 = black (darkest) up to 10 = lightest blonde. It tells the stylist how many levels to lift or deposit.
